Born November 28, 1975 in San Francisco, California. Sandro, the youngest of two sons of parents Michele and Andre Tchikovani. Both parents born in France and father of Georgian and Russian decent immigrated to the United States. He grew up with an early upbringing of culture by traveling to France with his mother and speaking fluent French at home. His father an Architect and Artist inspired his early introduction and passion to be creative.
In the early nineteen eighties he was moved by the urban art movement that flourished around him. By nineteen eighty nine spray paint, and markers became his choice mediums of expression. Known for his elaborate wild styles, and expressive colors, Misk1 has gained world wide recognition with his three dimensional letters. Using line shade and color Misk breaks the two dimensional surface with three dimensional words inspired by lyrics, hip hop terms and his name.
Typically Sandro has been known for his contribution to the urban art movement. But priding himself in his upbringing Sandro has meshed his Graffiti style with his father clean design esthetic and process to present a new style of contemporary art.
